An installment of The Witcher starring Ciri and the cooperative adventure Split Fiction announced at The Game Awards

A new role-playing title (RPG) from The Witcher IV with the character of Ciri as the protagonist, a multiplayer Elden Ring: Nightreing and the cooperative adventure that combines science fiction and fantasy worlds Split Fiction These are some of the video games that will arrive in 2025 confirmed at The Game Awards 2024.

These developments have been presented in the most recent edition of these awards, held at dawn (Spanish time) this Friday, December 13 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles (United States), where Astro Bot has received four of the 29 awards given.

Along with the presentation of the awards, other projects have been announced that will mark the launches planned for next year, among which is Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. Developed by the Spanish studio The Game Kitchen, it is expected to arrive in summer on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox platforms. In this case, the creators of Blasphemous will also offer a title with two-dimensional (2D) and side-scrolling graphics.

The name of Mint Rocket’s new project, Dave the Diver: In the Jungleand a preview has been made of the sequel to the card ‘roguelike’ Slay the Spire 2, which will be made available to some users through early access as early as next year.

At the moment there is no specific release date, it is possible that it will be released next year Thick as Thievesa multiplayer thief video game set in 1910 and developed by Otherside Entertainment and Megabit for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PX.

Rematch, which will initially arrive next summer, is a soccer title from the creators of Sifu that will also have support for the aforementioned platforms, as well as Elden Ring: Nightrein and The Outer Worlds 2. This other one will be available through the Game Pass streaming service.

Another of the notable announcements at The Game Awards 2024 has to do with the saga The Witcher IVsince its makers, CD Projekt RED, have unveiled a new open-world RPG in which Ciri is the protagonist and must embark on a journey to become a professional monster hunter.

The Japanese Team ICO, for its part, has advanced a new work that does not yet have an official title and Hazelight Studios, which also writes the popular It Takes Two, has shown the game mechanics of Split Fictionwhich will be launched in early 2025. Also by then it is expected Steel Hunters, a ‘free-to-play’ that will soon be available in closed beta and that Wargaming has developed.

Other advances presented during the gala have been those of the ‘shooter’ Borderlands 4, Turok Origins, Warframe: 1999 -now available on all platforms-, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Dying Light: The Beast and Mafia: The Old Country (both scheduled for summer 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC) or Dispatch.

The next launches announced at the gala have concluded with Stage Fright, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, The First Berserker: Khazan (March 2025), The Last of Us: Part 2 Remastered (April 2025), Double Dragon Revive (October 2025), Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet -developed by Naughty Dog- and Okami, designed by Hideki Kamiya. At the moment, it has not been announced when these last two will be available.
