MADRID 22 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Health of the Palestinian Authority denounced this Tuesday the death of an eleven-year-old boy due to shots fired by the Israeli Army during a military operation carried out in the city of Nablus, in the northern West Bank.

The boy, identified as Abdullah Yamal Hawash, was hit by a bullet in the chest while the Israeli Army was withdrawing from the city as part of a military operation in the area, according to the WAFA news agency.

After being injured, the minor was taken to a nearby hospital, although the medical team could do nothing to save his life. The Israeli Army had shortly before detained a young Palestinian in the historic center of the West Bank city.

Tensions have risen dramatically in the West Bank over the past year, amid increased attacks by settlers and security force operations in the wake of the October 7, 2023 attacks by the Islamic Resistance Movement ( Hamas) and other Palestinian groups.

During this period, more than 750 Palestinians have died, adding to the more than 42,700 deaths due to the military offensive against the Gaza Strip in response to the aforementioned attacks, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped, according to the balance of the Israeli authorities.
