April 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Palestinian authorities have reported that one person has died and another 30 have been injured as a result of the assault carried out yesterday Friday by a crowd of Israeli settlers in the West Bank towns of Al Mughayir and Abu Falá.

The settlers were looking for young Benjamin Achimeir, a 14-year-old from Jerusalem who went out to shepherd on Friday morning from a farm near the Malachei Ha'Shalom area.

The head of the local council of Al Mughayir, Amin abu Alia, explained shortly afterwards to the American network that between 1,000 and 1,200 settlers surrounded both towns and that around 500 entered directly into the town for which he is responsible. The settlers, according to the authorities, burned about 40 homes and vehicles and, according to Abu Alia, even stole several sheep.

The Palestinian Government confirmed yesterday the death of a person in Al Mughayir, identified as Asif Abu Alia, 25 years old and a relative of the local chief, killed by a shot to the head by a settler. Medical sources have updated this Saturday the balance of injuries, more than a dozen from firearms, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.

Both the authorities of Ramallah and Abu Alia have denounced that the settlers acted with the complete connivance of the Israeli Army forces in the area, who at no time did anything to defuse the situation.
