The Foreign Minister of Iran, Hosein Amirabdolahian, assured this Monday the UN Secretary General, António Guterres, that the attack against Israel last Saturday was carried out in accordance with the United Nations Charter and as a “legitimate” response to the bombing. against the Iranian Consulate in Damascus (Syria).

“I have pointed out the progressive trend of the crimes of the Zionist regime in the region and the legitimate right of our country in response to the terrorist attack of the Israeli regime against the Iranian Consulate in Damascus in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter,” Amirabdolahian has published on his social network account X, formerly Twitter.

Following this, he reported that he has also held talks with his counterparts from China, Wang Yi, and Russia, Sergei Lavrov, with whom he has addressed the “importance” of peace and stability in the region, reiterating his refusal to increase the tensions.
