Next year he will be 81 years old. And he will be running for a second term at the head of the White House. Although he has the support of his party, Joe Biden elicits mixed reactions among voters. According to a recent poll, 70% of Americans did not want to see him run again. In New York, a traditionally Democratic city, the second candidacy of the Democratic president gives something to talk about. “His first term of his is turning out just as I expected. Joe Biden’s popularity rating is stuck below 40%. And his age divides: “He shouldn’t be a candidate. He would have to find someone who has all of his abilities. He’s too old,” says a New Yorker.
Instead, this US citizen believes that Biden “is someone who knows how to make the government work. Despite the misgivings of some, many New Yorkers believe that Joe Biden is best placed to beat the Republicans. “I think he’s a good president, he’s sober, he’s not loud. I’d rather vote for the devil than vote for Trump,” concludes another New Yorker.
And the good news for Joe Biden is that he’s still more popular than Donald Trump in the polls.
