From April to June of this year, the company reported sales of 1,923 million pesos, 58.9% more than the first quarter of this year, whose result was driven by the income of its soccer segment – which includes the América team and Estadio Azteca – registering 1,033 million pesos.
In his financial report, Ollamani detailed that sales from the football vertical represent 53.8% of the company’s consolidated operations due to higher sales in advertising, sponsorships, stadium tickets and tax collections.
While the gaming vertical, which includes the operation of 18 “Play City” establishments, with approximately 6,000 electronic gaming machines, contributed 737 million pesos to Ollamani, representing 38.3% of the company’s consolidated revenues.
The magazine business generated revenues of 152.5 million pesos, accounting for 7.9% of the company’s total sales, thanks to the circulation, advertising and distribution of its own titles.
The increase in revenue experienced by Ollamani in the second quarter of this year allowed it to boost its profits. From April to June, the company recorded 275.6 million pesos in its net profit.
The company highlighted that during the first half of the year it invested 293.3 million, respectively, in property and equipment as capital investments. Ollamani is committed to rehabilitating the Azteca Stadium for the next soccer World Cup that will take place in 2026.
Grupo Televisa decided to divest its Other Businesses division to make these operations more attractive to investors and allow the company to focus more precisely on the telecommunications segment with its Izzi, Sky and ViX brands, which has experienced a significant boost due to the increased demand for connectivity and content following the pandemic.
