After the launch of the new AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Y AMD Radeon RX 7900XT, AMD has started releasing new driver versions exclusive to these GPUs, and the new drivers AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 23.1.1 they follow this policy, leaving the rest of the company’s GPUs behind. However, it is expected that AMD will release a general version of these drivers for the rest of the graphics cards.
Those that are the first drivers of the year 2023 (hence they start with 23 following the company’s naming scheme), add various fixes to problems found in previous drivers on the Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX. Specifically, they solve a problem of performance degradation after doing a factory reset of the Radeon Software values, they correct hangs and closures in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt when using Raytracing or in Valheim when using the Vulkan graphics API set.
The use of the auto overclock function of the graphics cards could cause driver crashes, something that these also solve AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 23.1.1 for the RX 7900 Series.
On the other hand, AMD has published a list of known issues with this version that could affect some systems, such as high idle consumption on systems with high resolution displays or high refresh rates, hangs when using AMD Radeon Super Resolution with Multi-monitor systems, Stuttering or “micro-cutting” in Uncharted 4 at game start or reduced performance in VR games.
