It seems that AMD nor does it want to be left behind for the launch of its new generation of processors based on Zen 5 cores. The last known date for these processors with Zen 5 cores were by 2024, but this date can now be brought forward even to the end of this year. So has confirmed it GIGABYTE in a press release announcing its servers with Ryzen 7000 processors that will share a socket with the next generation of AMD processors, the newly released AM5.
GIGABYTE has told about the future of its servers that, thanks to the new AM5 socket with support until 2025, they can simply be updated switching processor to the next generation. It also specifies that the next generation of processors will be available later this yearsomething that would advance AMD’s plans for Zen 5 cores by a year. These Zen5 cores, like the current Zen 4, are shared between Ryzen 7000 Series processors and AMD EPYC 7004, although they use different sockets.
The advertised GIGABYTE servers feature Ryzen 7000 processorsso they refer to the next Ryzen 8000 Series as processors of Next Generation.
It is said that this next generation based on Zen 5 will have a increment of nuclei per CCD, allowing to obtain a greater number of total cores in the processors. They are also expected to be manufactured by TSMC with the node of 3 nanometers.
