AMD has unveiled its new series of processors Low Power Ryzen 7040U Seriesa series that, as its new nomenclature indicates, is based on zen cores 4 which are also used in processors AMD Dragon Range and the 7000 Series for desktop computers.
These new processors for low-power laptops come with a Superior performance, along with better graphics and AI-powered AMD XDNA architecture so present in all new processors. Also, this series has a consumption of only 15 to 30 Wideal for ultra-thin computers, without sacrificing the performance offered by the maximum configuration available in this series of AMD Ryzen 7040U processors.
The new AMD Ryzen 7040U are available in 4 references divided into the Ryzen 7 7840Uthe Ryzen 5 7640U and 7540U and the Ryzen 3 7440U. The configuration of these new processors can be seen in the following table.

This generation has processors of up to 8 cores and 16 threads with Zen 4 architecture, capable of reaching speeds of up to 5.1GHz. In addition, they include AMD Radeon 700M high performance integrated graphics with architecture RDNA 3. According to the data offered by AMD, these processors offer from 29% to 128% more performance in day-to-day applications for Windows, specifically they talk about the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U with Radeon 780M graphics compared to an Intel Core i7-1360P and Intel Iris Xe graphics.

According to manufacturer data, these AMD Radeon 700M graphics in its most powerful version get better performance than integrated graphics in Intel thirteenth generation. From 30% more performance in DOTA 2, going through 62% more in League of Legends and up to 139% more in Cyberpunk 2077.
