Although we had already been able to learn some details about this NAS at CES 2022, it is now that QNAP launches officially its TS-h1290FX, a NAS in U.2 format with 12 bays and governed by a processor AMD EPYC 7302P 16 cores and 32 threads in its two most powerful variants, or a AMD EPYC 7232P 8 core and 16 threads in its most economical variant.
The two most capable models of the QNAP TS-h1290FXvThey are accompanied by 256 GB and 128 GB of DDR4 RAM with 8 modules of 32 GB and 16 GB respectively, while the 8-core model has “only” 64 GB of memory distributed in 8 modules of 8 GB. All of them support up to 1 TB of RAM.
Each of its 12 bays offers NVMe Gen 4×4 connectivity in a 2.5-inch U2 form factor, complemented by 4 PCI Express 4.0 x4 bays.
RED connectivity reaches 25 GbE in its two SFP28 ports, although it also has two 2.5 GbE RJ45 and three USB 3.0.
The model with 128 GB and EPYC 7302P costs 8,410 euros, while the model with 64 GB and the EPYC 7232 stays at 5,875 euros.
