It seems that the cores that we will find in the AMD EPYC Bergamo processors will be much smaller than what we can find in any other Zen 4 processor.something that in principle should be thanks to this Zen 4c architecture that we will find inside.

Apparently, as we read in TechPowerUpZen 4c kernels are much smaller in size than Zen 4 kernels, so CCDs with 16 cores can be created instead of 8 cores, increasing their size by only 9.6 percentsomething that increases the computational density.

These CCDs will be divided into two CCXso every eight cores will share 16MB of L3 cache, while each core will enjoy 1MB of L2 cachethe same as in the Zen 4 cores. In general, we will find processors whose cores will occupy approximately half that of their desktop counterparts, even using the same process.

AMD has dubbed these cores Dionysus, while the CCDs are codenamed Vindhya, to finally create this Bergamo processor with 128 cores and 256 threads with only 8 Zen 4c CCDs.
