MADRID Jan. 6 (Portaltic/EP) –
Within the framework of CES 2025, AMD has presented the new processors with which it will power the next generation of gaming equipment, and has offered a preview of the RDNA 4 graphics architecture.
Gaming computers will improve video game performance with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor, equipped with 16 cores with Zen5 architecture and 32 threads that run at a maximum frequency speed of 5.7GHz and offer a total cache of 144MB, with own second generation V-cache technology.
AMD has highlighted this chip as “the best processor for gaming”, since it improves the speed of video games on average by 8 percent compared to the Ryzen 9 7950X3D model, and by 20 percent compared to the Intel Core i9 285K, based on their tests with games like Starfield, Final Fantasy XVI and Counter Strike 2.
This processor will be available in the equipment that hits the market in the first quarter of this year. Along with it, the Ryzen 9000 series is completed with the 9900X3D chips (12 cores, 24 threads, 5.5GHz and 140MB), 9955HX3D (16 cores, 32 threads, 5.4GHz and 144MB), 9955HX (16 cores, 32 threads, 5.4GHz, 80MB) and 9850HX (12 cores, 24 threads, 5.2GHz and 76MB).
AMD has also introduced the Ryzen Z2 series of processors, designed for the next generation of portable PC gaming consoles to enable better performance and facilitate hours of gaming.
It is led by the Z2 Extreme model, with its 8 cores and 16 threads, maximum speed of 5.0GHz, 24MB cache and 16 graphics cores. This series also has the Z2 model, with 8 cores and 16 threads, maximum speed of 5.1GHz, 24MB cache and 12 graphics cores; and Z2 Go, with 4 cores and 8 threads, maximum speed of 4.3GHz, 10MB cache and 12 graphics cores.
RDNA 4
The technology company has also shared a preview of the RDNA 4 architecture, the new generation of technology integrated into AMD processors designed to power graphics products for video games.
The new generation of graphics cards with RDNA 4 are manufactured with a 4 nanometer process, second generation AI accelerators to enable new AI experiences, third generation ray tracing accelerators to improve the performance of this technology and the engine 2nd generation AMD Radiance Display to improve color accuracy.
With it, AMD has presented the new graphics units of the Radeon RX 9070XT and RX 9070 series, which will be available in the first quarter of the year, from computer manufacturers such as Acer and Asus.
