Amazon has published ahead of time (and then deleted) the news in which it presented the new Kindle family, which for the first time has a color model. It’s called Kindle Colorsoft and will be available on October 30 for $279.99. The company has also revealed a new Kindle Scribe with improved writing and AI technology, a faster Kindle Paperwhite, and a more compact entry-level Kindle. The announcement will be official in the next few hours and that will be when we will update the news with prices in euros.

The Kindle Colorsoft is “designed to deliver rich, paper-like color,” and the company explains “uses an oxide back layer with custom waveforms for fast performance and greater contrast in both color and white content.” and black”. Its screen has an auto-adjusting front light, allows you to zoom in on images “without worrying about pixelation” and choose between standard or vibrant color styles. The device has fast page changes, wireless charging, up to eight weeks of autonomy, is water resistant and has a new light guide with nitride LEDs.

The renewal of the Kindle Scribe starts with the screen, which now features white borders and a paper-like texture so that the sensation when writing on it is closer to that of a real sheet of paper. The panel maintains 300 dpi. For its part, the Premium Pencil promises to convey the same feeling as a real pen with its weight and balance, while its new soft-tip eraser seeks to resemble a pencil.

One of the main features of the Kindle Scribe is the ability to take notes, an option that is enhanced with Active Canvas. This feature allows you to add notes directly to the book so that they become part of it, and this means that the text remains visible even when you increase the font size, change the font style, or change the layout of the book. “Coming soon” it will also be possible to write notes on the side and hide them when finished. Additionally, Kindle Scribe includes AI technology to summarize pages and pages of notes into concise points with a shareable, handwritten-style font.

Finally, the new Kindle Paperwhite is billed as “the fastest yet,” with faster scrolling and 25% faster page changes. The screen grows to 7 inches, offering a slimmer device and a battery life of up to three months. The Kindle Paperwhite Standard Edition is waterproof and features 16GB of storage, while the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition comes with 32GB of storage, optional wireless charging, and auto-adjusting front light.
