In that month, the company reported its market value at about $879 billion, according to Bloomberg data, a significant drop from its July 2021 record of $1.88 trillion.
On the other hand, the situation in the Amazon offices are grey. A few days ago the company announced that it will lay off more than 18,000 workers, especially in the company’s corporate ranks and in human resources functions, such as recruiting.
The situation has also hit the future of the company, as Amazon decided to scrap some experimental projects, including telemedicine service Amazon Care, retail site Fabric.com, as well as scrap plans to build 42 new facilities.
Meanwhile, authorities are watching the company run by Andy Jassy, and on Wednesday the Occupational Safety and Health Administration launched an investigation for failing to provide a safe workplace for employees, after discovering that employees were exposed to ergonomic hazards in three of their warehouses.
