Almost 50 ships have sailed with grain from Ukraine thanks to the agreement

Aug. 27 () –

The agreement sealed at the end of July between kyiv and Moscow to allow the export of Ukrainian grain has facilitated the departure of almost fifty ships this month, the last three this Saturday.

Ukraine’s Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said on Friday that more than a million tons of grain had left for 15 countries and on board 44 ships. kyiv aims to raise the volume of exports to three million tons per month.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed this Saturday the departure of three other ships from Ukrainian ports, under an agreement in which Turkey and the United Nations acted as mediators. In fact, representatives of the three countries involved monitor compliance with the pact from Istanbul.

The UN has defended the agreement as a key tool to alleviate global food shortages and hopes to take advantage of its symbolism so that Russians and Ukrainians can sit down in the future to talk about other issues.
