Almost 1 in 4 purchases with cards in Mexico are made in ecommerce

Condusef highlighted that the growth of online operations occurs because users have more confidence when making online purchases due to the security measures imposed by some financial institutions such as digital cards or digital CVV.

In electronic commerce, debit card transactions dominate: 70% of purchases are made with this type of card while 30% are made with credit cards.

“The average expense made in each e-commerce purchase for the credit card was 1,292 pesos and for the debit card it was 522 pesos, which still indicates that for small purchases the use is preferably with own resources and for purchases of The credit granted by financial entities is taken advantage of in greater amounts,” Condusef highlighted.

Condusef data show that the bank with the most operations is BBVA México, Banamex and Santander.
