Alex Mor evokes traditional rhythms in Birdie

Alex More presents “Birdie”, a theme about reinvention and rebirth, and defines it as the beginning of a new stage in his life. This song is part of the album that the artist will share in 2023.

“’Birdie’ speaks to the listener as if he were an older bird and tries to encourage him to keep flying despite the circumstances. The harp and strings, following the rhythmic and harmonic patterns of the Venezuelan joropo, are mixed with trap rhythms and pop voices, to create an alternative sound that fuses the city with the countryside, in a journey of acceptance, which is never too late for nothing,” says the singer.

Alex Mor’s theme was produced by Deft Dog, mixed and mastered by Esoteric Sound. Raúl Numerao on plain voices, Stefano Melillo on strings, and Doris Arbelaes on harp.

“A few months ago I mixed a lot of traditional Ibero-American music with the urban and the modern. And although this is a more “crazy” version due to the complexity of the Venezuelan rhythms, I feel that it is a good mix of elements. It does not mean that the following songs are going to be that complex or strange. I wanted to start with a theme in which I did not put any artistic restrictions on myself and that represents a lot who I am as a person at this moment in my life, ”says the artist.

The author, who is based in Los Angeles – CA, emphasizes that his genre is alternative pop, and his music mixes pop melodies, electronic instruments, Latin sounds, and sometimes different elements of world music. His lyrics deal with the experiences of growing up, nostalgia and the fast pace of a globalized world.

Alex Mor really wants to return to Venezuela, since he would like to do a version of “Birdie” with some national artist and he keeps the idea of sharing with other singers or musicians latent.
