Alec Baldwin returns to ‘SNL’ in the open… but not as Donald Trump

Alec Baldwin appeared again in the last episode of “Saturday night live” but not in his previous ability to impersonate former US President Donald Trump.

This time, Baldwin played FOX News host Bret Baier on the open air, who interrogated Maya Rudolph as Vice President Kamala Harris in a parody of your interview which aired on the network last week.

While Baldwin is known to have appeared on “SNL” as Trump in past seasons, “SNL” cast member James Austin Johnson has more recently been playing the former president, despite speculation that Baldwin would return this season before the election.

Throughout the “SNL” interview parody for FOX News, Baldwin as Baier and Rudolph as Harris discussed policy topics including immigration and abortion.

When it came to immigration, Rudolph like Harris talked about all the cartels he said he had taken down, joking: “If I were in ‘Breaking Bad,’ “It would have ended in three episodes.”

Baldwin as Baier incessantly interrupted Rudolph as Harris throughout the interview. At another point, he mocked her for only answering questions because she’s “just looking for a viral moment,” and then Rudolph turned to a different camera to create fake TikTok clips.

They also made fun of one of the most viral moments to exit the real-life interview, with Rudolph as Harris and Baldwin as Baier arguing about how he played the wrong Trump clip.

Dana Carvey, playing President Joe Biden, also appeared during the sketch, but notably absent from the cold shoulder was Andy Samberg, who appeared on the long-running sketch show this season playing second gentleman Doug Emhoff.

This weekend’s episode was hosted by Michael Keaton, star of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and the new “Goodrich.” He previously hosted three times, most recently in 2015, and appeared on the show in 2019. Billie Eilish was the musical guest.

John Mulaney will host the next episode of “Saturday Night Live” on November 2 with Chappell Roan as musical guest, just before Election Day.
