MADRID Nov. 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of Syria, Bashar al Assad, assured this Saturday that his forces will defeat “all terrorists and their supporters” amid the advance of the coalition formed by the jihadist group Hayat Tahrir al Sham (HTS) and opposition groups in the northwest of the country.
In a telephone conversation with his Emirati counterpart, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Al Assad assured that the Syrian Army “will continue to defend its populations and its territorial integrity” despite the advance of the rebel coalition, particularly in the city of Aleppo, the second most important in the country, which right now is almost under its complete control.
The Syrian president adds that he will defeat “all terrorists and their supporters and will be able, with the help of his allies and friends, to eliminate them regardless of the severity of their attacks,” according to the Syrian Presidency in a message published on its social network account
Bin Zayed, for his part, took advantage of the conversation to convey to the Syrian president his support “in the fight against terrorism and the expansion of its sovereignty, territorial integrity and stability.”
