MADRID 7 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The airlines Air France and its low-cost subsidiary Transavia have announced an extension of the suspension of flights to Israel and Lebanon in the context of the escalating war in the area.
Specifically, their flights between Paris and Tel Aviv will not resume until October 15 and in the case of Beirut, they will not resume until at least October 26.
“The resumption of operations is subject to the evaluation of the situation,” the airlines said in a statement reported by French television BFMTV.
Air France announced the suspension of flights to Beirut at the end of August and proposed a date of October 8 for their resumption. However, Israel has since launched a military invasion of southern Lebanon and expanded bombings against targets of the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah.
