Aiper Scuba S1 and S1 Pro: cleaning the pool has never been so easy

Aiper has already positioned itself as the leading manufacturer of pool cleaning robots. They have taken the ‘roomba’ concept to the water and have completely revolutionized the cleaning experience of these spaces. Now they come with new improved products, Aiper Scuba S1 and S1 Pro, that continue to evolve to adapt their technology to any type of pool.

With a robotic pool cleaner for every pool size, every cleaning need and every budget, the Scuba Series is packed with industry-first technologies that make pool maintenance easy. We’ve been able to test these two devices, within the brand’s more ‘premium’ ranges, ranging from €599.99 for the Scuba S1 to €1,019.99 for the Pro model, and we are going to share our first impressions with you.

Now that the pool season is starting, Aiper is becoming an essential ally. If you have tried its products, it is difficult to take a step back and return to the classic pool cleaner, connecting the vacuum hose to the skimmer. Now the gesture is quite different: Throw the Aiper robot into the pool while you have breakfast (or leave it working the night before) and you will find a clean pool every day when you go for a swim.

When we think of robots, what we want is precisely for them to do away with boring, mechanical tasks so that we can focus on what’s important. And that is the only aim of Aiper, which has one of the most important markets for its business in Spain due to the number of homes with swimming pools.

THE MOST ‘PREMIUM’ MODEL: SCUBA S1 PRO

The Scuba S1 Pro It is thought for in-ground pools up to 200 square meters and, in addition to having caterpillar treads for greater mobility, ultra-fine dual filters and WavePath 2.0 navigation technology, it uses sensors to maneuver around obstacles and has five cleaning modes, including the world’s first horizontal waterline cleaning mode called WaveLine Technology.

The latter allows for effective brushing five centimetres above the pool’s water line, so that the walls, which are also affected by splashes or dirt on the surface of the water, are left spotless.

The robot also incorporates Four infrared sensors for better obstacle detection, such as steps (increasingly common in swimming pools) and the double filter that we mentioned earlier: the first to capture leaves, hair or gravel, and a second that is capable of filter out algae or microorganisms for a much deeper clean. All accompanied by a suction power of 100 GPM.

The Scuba S1 Pro is also compatible with a separately sold wireless communication beacon called Aiper HydroComm, which allows users to wirelessly connect to the robotic pool cleaner via the Aiper app. Through the Aiper app and the wireless HydroComm, the user can select – for example – the Waterline Recall function to ask the robot to rise to the waterline to facilitate recovery.

In other products, such as the Scuba S1 we have to continue ‘fishing’ the robot with a small plastic hook which is included in the box and can be attached to any standard pool net extender. Aiper knows that this is a point to improve, since the robots are somewhat heavy and the surface is not ideal for catching it comfortably, and is already offering some interesting alternatives.

SCUBA S1 WILL BE THE OPTION TO BEAT FOR ITS PRICE

In this range we also find the Scuba S1, which is considered Aiper’s ‘star product’, awarded the CES 2024 Innovation Award. Due to its price, about 400 euros cheaper than its ‘big brother’, it makes it the ideal option for those who want the most ‘premium’ technological features on a tighter budget.

This robot performs a systematic cleaning of In-ground pools up to 149 square meters in 2.5 hours with user-customizable modes: Floor, Wall and Wall + Floor, plus a new Eco mode for periodic cleaning every 48 hours. With patented WavePath Navigation Technology 2.0, the robot follows the natural flow of the pool to increase cleaning coverage from end to end.

Sustainability and energy saving is another of the points on which Aiper is now focusing. For this reason, it offers the separate sale of a solar panel accessory, which offers an energy-efficient, plug-free charging option, allowing you to have the robot next to the pool instead of looking for a plug next to the house to charge it.

In short, Aiper continues to expand its product catalogue for adapt to the needs of each type of user and pool, and this strategy will lead to a very large market dominance when any competitor wants to enter the scene. A smart move with which the brand expects to reach the figure of one million units of robots sold in 2024 worldwide. At the moment they have no rival and, without a doubt, they have changed the way we see pool cleaning. It has never been so easy.
