However, progress towards the effective adoption of AI continues to present difficulties; For example, the diversity of technological environments together with the permanent emergence of new tools adds complexity to the digital transformation process.
Open source and standardization
The answer to this problem is — according to Thiago Araki, senior director of technology at Red Hat for Latin America—through the standardization of infrastructure. That is, open source platforms, which allow organizations to operate in any environment efficiently and with greater consistency.
The standardization of systems and infrastructure allows organizations to advance more quickly in the adoption of AI and other emerging technologies. This approach not only facilitates process automation and reduces configuration errors, but also significantly shortens the time to deploy new applications and services.
Companies have already perceived the importance of this issue with a study recent Red Hat report pointing out that optimizing infrastructure management is among companies’ top investment priorities this year, along with security and resource optimization, especially in the cloud.
Among the key operating systems to achieve this standardization, Linux stands out, which, with multiple versions available, offers the necessary flexibility to meet market demands.
However, Alejandro Dirgan, leader of the platform Red Hat Enterprise Linux for Latin America, warned that not all versions are equally suitable: “free and cloud solutions may lack the integration and security necessary to meet organizations’ requirements.”
