AI: Apple Intelligence, Cupertino's bet finally has details

Apple highlights on AI

During the World Developers Conference (WWDC), Tim Cook mentioned that they have used AI for years, however, in this new era he highlighted that the technology must be “powerful, intuitive, deeply integrated into your personal context and be built with privacy as a basis.”

In that context, the company announced Apple Intelligence (AI) from Apple Park at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, where OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also attended.

“This is a moment we’ve been working on for a long time,” Craig Federighi, vice president of software engineering at the company, who introduced the tool and mentioned that it will be able to summarize notifications, help write messages and edit work in apps like Notes and Pages.

With these new tools, which will be available for free in iOS 18, iPadOS18 and macOS Sequoia, it will also be possible to generate completely original images for conversations or even create some based on people, although the company confirmed that they will not be photorealistic.

Federighi highlighted that the latest version of ChatGPT (GPT-4o) will be available on these operating systems and will also be integrated into Siri to ask questions related to documents, photographs or PDF files.

Likewise, ChatGPT can be used from the iPhone to create content without the need to pay or even have a registered account in the OpenAI system. If this service is available, users will have more tools at their disposal.
