Unfortunately, redfall, one of the great Xbox and PC exclusives of 2023, was unable to live up to expectations. In the end, many players agreed that Arkane’s DNA is conspicuous by its absence. It seems the studio has taken note of those comments and is going back to its roots.
Despite the disastrous launch of the vampire multiplayer FPS, Matt Booty, head of Xbox Games Studios, was clear that Arkane Austin is in the clear. Now, it seems that the studio has already started working on its new project.

Arkane Studios could return to its roots after the failure of Redfall
through the ZeniMax official website, Arkane Studios is seeking new staff to join its offices in Austin, Texas. The available openings reveal little about the projects the studio has on its hands, but a job offer sheds an interesting clue as to what might be on the way.
We talked about the position of “lead technical engineer”, where it is recommended that candidates be “familiar with single player action role-playing games and immersive simulators”. Those are certainly signature features of the studio’s single-player games.
“Arkane Austin is seeking a Lead Technical Engineer to join us and lead a team of talented engineers developing AAA games for PC and console systems. Our emerging gameplay style and immersive simulation values lead to interesting challenges,” reads the job overview.

Before the release of the controversial redfallArkane Austin worked on the outstanding Preya science fiction title that received praise from gamers but unfortunately went unnoticed.
We’ll have to wait and see if the new game recaptures that magic. Of course, it is important to note that the company has not yet confirmed that it is working on a completely new experience, so we recommend taking this information with reservations.
Meanwhile, the studio is hard at work fixing the issues in the multiplayer vampire game. Recently, a large-scale patch debuted that introduced quality of life improvements. On the to-do list is still the 60 FPS mode that was promised before launch.
