With the intermediation of the Ministry of Labor, the Colombian Association of Professional Soccer Players (Acolfutpro), the Major Division of Colombian Soccer (Dimayor) and the Colombian Soccer Federation (FCF) will sign, this Tuesday, April 9, an agreement to negotiate the conditions of professional soccer players in the country.
This agreement to sit down to negotiate was reached after more than 17 years: since 2006, Acolfutpro has submitted the request to negotiate, but, for different reasons, “The start of these conversations had not occurred, despite several complaints that the association filed with the ILO Committee on Freedom of Association, with which its right to collective bargaining was protected.“, recalled the Mintrabajo.
Negotiations for working conditions will begin on April 15 and will continue until September 30, 2024. They will be accompanied by the Vice Ministry of Labor Relations and Inspection.
The main points of these will be the professional women's soccer tournament, the calendar of professional competitions and the agreement of the player's status.
