Last year, during IFA 2024, Acer presented its bet on a portable game console, Acer Nitro Blaze 7. A portable game console with Windows and a 7-inch screen that tries to compete directly with consoles such as Lenovo Legion Go or SteamDeck. The 2025 bet? Make them bigger.
This is how they arrive this year the new Acer Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11 which are exactly what you’d expect, larger 8-inch and 11-inch versions (10.95 inches to be exact). Although the negative part is that it maintains the technical characteristics of the 7-inch, in this case a larger size is better.
I have been able to test them during CES 2025 held in Las Vegas and in this case, yes, a larger screen makes a difference. The new Nitro Blaze 11 is quite impressive in person, because an 11-inch screen is very large for a portable console. In addition, this version has a difference that the rest do not have, the controls can be separated from the screen in true Nintendo Switch style.
Otherwise, both the 8 and 11-inch versions have the same important technical characteristics, such as an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, an AMD Radeon 780M graphics card, 16 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of internal storage. They even maintain the same 55 Wh battery.
In hand it is a large console. Really big. It weighs about 1 kilogram and that means you can pick it up and play freehand, but not for long.
The most interesting thing is the prices. 999 euros for the 8-inch version and 1,199 euros for the 11-inch version. The bad thing is that it will not arrive in Europe until at least the second quarter of 2025.
Renewal of Swift Go and Aspire laptops with Copilot+
Acer also takes advantage of this CES 2025 to renew its range of Swift Go and Aspire laptops, the most common equipment that the Taiwanese company sells on the market. Specifically, we are talking about the new Switf Go 16 A, Swift Go 14 AI and Aspire 14 AI.
At the design level there are practically no changes, the most important thing is inside with a change of processors.
For 14 and 16 inch laptops, Acer Swift Go 14 AI and Swift Go 16 AI the processors arrive AMD Ryzen AI 7 350rivals to Intel’s Lunar Lake chips. They have up to 32 GB of RAM, AMD Radeon 860M graphics, up to 2 TB of SSD in the 16-inch model and up to 1 TB in the 14-inch model and a weight of around 1.3 kg and 1.5 kg. .
The screens can be OLED, or in the case of the touch version, they become IPS with resolutions of up to 2,880 x 1,800 pixels.
In the case of the Swift Go 16 and 14 They have the latest from Intel, the Intel Core 9 Ultra 285Hup to 32 GB of RAM, Intel Arc graphics and essentially the same features as the Swift Go AI, but due to technical characteristics this device does not come with the Copilot+ AI systems.
Finally we have the new Acer Aspire 14 AI. It is an ultralight that is positioned between the Swift Go 14 and 16 with an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, a 14-inch OLED or IPS screen with a touch option and a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, up to 64 GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
It is a Copilot+ laptop with a 65 Wh all-day battery and a weight of 1.4 kg.
