Acer introduces SpatialLabs Eyes camera to create stereoscopic 3D content

May 31. (Portaltic/EP) –

Acer has introduced the SpatialLabs Eyes camera, a professional device designed for the creation of three-dimensional (3D) images with stereoscopic technology, which is also compatible with the streaming and video calling platforms of this product line.

SpatialLabs is Acer’s family of products that allows users to immerse themselves in the three-dimensional worlds of gaming with stereoscopic technology, including the Predator SpatialLabs View 27 monitor and the SpatialLabs View Pro display.

The line is expanded with the new SpatialLabs Eyes 3D camera, which Acer has presented within the framework of Computex 2024, the technology fair dedicated to computing that will open its doors on June 4 in Taipei (Taiwan).

SpatialLabs Eyes is a compact camera designed for photographers, allowing them to capture and view stereoscopic images in immersive 3D with compatibility with Acer’s SpatialLabs suite of devices.

This device offers a resolution of 8 megapixels per eye, a built-in selfie mirror, and a weather-resistant exterior. Its setup enhances shooting experiences with calibrated lens alignment and an advanced optical system to photograph items with greater depth and 3D detail.

The camera also offers real-time 3D streaming and storytelling, allowing users to share their content live on YouTube and other streaming platforms with the new Acer SpatialLabs Player 3.0.

Video chat will be available through the SpatialLabs video calling widget in Q3. With it, it will be possible to have high-resolution 3D video conferences in applications such as Teams (1080p), Zoom (720p) and Google Meet (1080p).

The SpatialLabs Eyes camera will be available in Spain starting in the third quarter from 549 euros.

DEVELOPMENT TOOLS FOR 3D CONTENT AND APPLICATIONS

The SpatialLabs family also has tools for 3D content and application development, such as the SpatialLabs Unreal 5.3 and Unity 2021.3 LTS and 2022.3 LTS plugins, which will be available for users starting in June.

Also launching is the new SpatialLabs Model Viewer Pro app, which is compatible with SpatialLabs Pro devices. The app is designed to improve 3D content workflow and user experiences with new features tailored for commercial usability.

The app includes features like adding a virtual turntable, overlays with logos and backgrounds, as well as customizations with your preferred HDRI.
