One of the highlights at a global level is coming: the elections to the European Parliament. In the great electoral event on the continent, citizens elect the deputies of the Legislature in charge of processing laws for the 27 countries of the European Union (EU), which affect people’s lives, from provisions on new technologies and artificial intelligence , to economic, climate and immigration policies, among others. In its more than 60 years of history, the European Parliament has gone from being a simple consultative assembly to a Parliament that controls the budget and approves or rejects regulations that impact even beyond its borders.
