The National Police have arrested a young mother in Palma as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of attempted murder after allegedly trying to suffocate his 6-year-old daughter at home.
The events occurred last week and, as reported by the Police this Saturday, the mother requested medical assistance upon realizing that his daughter had begun to convulse after trying to suffocate her.
The investigation began when the Family and Women Care Unit (UFAM) of the National Police learned of the events after the girl was admitted to a hospital.
Initially, the mother stated that sHis daughter had suddenly suffered seizuresa, but doctors detected various injuries in the minor who showed signs of asphyxiationwhich raised suspicions about the woman’s initial story.
From there, National Police agents opened an investigation and took statements from several witnesses, which led to the discovery that, supposedly, the mother had pressed a cushion against her daughter’s face with the intention of suffocating her.
However, When the girl began to convulse, the mother stopped her aggression and immediately called 061.
The woman was arrested and refused to testify before the judge, based on the advice of her lawyer. Finally, she was released with the prohibition of communicating or approaching her daughter, whose custody has been removed.
The girl has been left in the care of a relative and The mother is awaiting a forensic examination to determine her mental state.
The Police have indicated that the case has caused great commotion among the neighbors of the neighborhood where the mother and daughter reside, and the investigation continues if there was more history of abuse of the minor.
