Greek security forces have arrested a 61-year-old Swedish citizen of Palestinian origin who was in possession of several firearms and who had threatened to attack politicians in Sweden.
The suspect was arrested on Friday in Keratsini, in the Greater Athens area, for non-compliance with weapons regulations, since four rifles, two pistols, ammunition, three binoculars and a silencer were found at his home, according to this report. Sunday Greek radio Athina 9.84.
The man had been living in Greece for at least a year without declaring the weapons he owned to the Greek authorities during that time. He has also not been able to prove a shooter’s or hunter’s license.
Swedish authorities had suspended his weapons license after he posted videos on social media threatening politicians in the Nordic country.
