(Cnn in Spanish) — This Friday the government of Peru reported through a statement that a state of emergency has been declared in 25 districts of the department of Arequipa due to imminent danger from heavy rains.
The Disaster Risk Reactive Management Office had reported this Friday that up to now and since the start of the rainy season, 3,000 people have been affected, 8,222 homeless, 58 deceased, 57 injured, 8 missing, 420 homes destroyed, 2,509 uninhabitable and 14 thousand houses affected.
