A sketch shows us the design of PS5 Pro, which could be presented in September

We’ve been talking about the existence of PS5 Pro for almost a year and a half now, and it finally seems like its presentation is just around the corner. This is according to billbil-kun, a user of Dealabs which has proven to be very reliable when it comes to advancing news about the launch of new hardware and software. In addition, this same character says he has in his hands a photo of the final packaging of the console that he cannot share, so he has made a sketch where you can see the design of PS5 Pro, whose appearance is very similar to PS5 Slim.

As you can see in the sketch, PS5 Pro is a console that is hard to differentiate from the current model, the same one that went on sale a year ago and which we call Slim. At first glance, only the three black lines on the outside stand out. The rest of the console is white and on the front it maintains the two USB-C ports next to the power button. Regarding size, billbil-kun comments that PS5 Pro is slightly thicker than PS5 Slim and that the covers designed for PS5 Slim should be compatible with the Pro model.

According to this image, the PS5 Pro does not have a disc drive. It is not yet known whether a version with one will be available in stores, but in any case it should be possible to purchase a dockable disc drive separately, as is the case with the PS5 Slim. This accessory is priced at 119.99 euros. We will see what happens with the PS5 Pro, but if you want to place the PS5 Slim vertically, you will have to purchase a stand that is sold for 29.99 euros.

And the announcement? billbil-kun is not yet in a position to say when PS5 Pro will be announced, but according to his information he can offer a window that places the presentation of the console in the first half of September. We will see if the specifications and price are leaked before then, which are undoubtedly the most important data for anyone interested. Regarding the launch, there are no dates. In this regard, we can only remember that PS5 Slim was announced on October 10, 2023 and began arriving in stores in November. This opens the door for PS5 Pro to be available at the end of September.

When Sony decides to announce PS5 Pro, we’ll be able to clear up a lot of doubts, including those surrounding the console’s performance. According to the rumors that have appeared so far, the new model will be accompanied by the label Enhanced for PS5 Pro to designate games that take advantage of the new console’s hardware. To earn this label, titles must have a PS5 Pro mode that runs the game at 4K and 60 FPS with ray tracing effects. 4K can be reached by scaling the resolution and there will be flexibility with the frames per second, so a game with 30 FPS could be considered enhanced.
