A simulated AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT performs 4-12% better than the RX 6800 XT



In the absence of the official presentation of the Midrange Navi 32 GPU that will carry the alleged AMD Radeon RX 7800XTtoday we have been able to see filtered from AMD itself an image of this supposed GPU with MCM design. As on some previous occasion, Igor’s Lab has achieved simulate a AMD Radeon RX 7800XTstarting with an AMD Radeon W7800, even though this workstation model includes a high-end Navi 31 GPU. The result places the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT among 4 and 12% more powerful than the last generation RX 6800 XT.

For this simulation, Igor’s Lab has had to reduce memory of this Radeon W7800 from 32GB to 16GB and increase the clock speed a bit up to 20Gbps. It has also raised the clock speed of the GPU which stands at 1,855 MHz to just over 2GHz, for which it has not had power problems thanks to its two 8-pin power connectors. With these changes and after several tests in different games, it has obtained results of 4% more using games with 1080p resolutiona 8% more at 1440p and a 12.5% more in games with 4K resolution.

Given the nature of the original model used for this simulation, it is quite possible that the real version of the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT achieve superior results to those obtained in this simulation, and that the W7800 is a workstation card that is not designed to support loads such as the latest games.
