21 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
A security guard deployed in front of the home of the mayor of the Israeli city of Taibeh, located in the center of the country and with an Arab majority, died this Friday after being shot by unidentified armed persons, as confirmed by the authorities.
Police sources quoted by the Israeli newspaper ‘Haaretz’ have indicated that two armed people opened fire on the guard, without it being clear at the moment if they tried to break into the home of the mayor, Shuaa Mansur.
The security guard had been sent to the place as a result of the death threats made against the mayor, so the authorities are investigating whether the event is related to them. Mansur’s home was shot at in March, an incident that resulted in no casualties.
