7 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –

A plane from the Japanese company Jetstar Japan has made an emergency landing at an airport in the Aichi prefecture, in the center of the country, after an alleged bomb threat.

There were 136 passengers and six crew members on the plane, who had to evacuate through the emergency slides. According to authorities, at least five people have been injured during the evacuation.

The plane made the forced landing around 07:30 (local time) at the airport in the Chubu region, according to the Japanese news agency NHK. However, it left from Narita airport, near the city of Tokyo, and was destined for Fukoka airport, in southwestern Japan.

As reported by the aforementioned agency, sources close to the incident have reported that the Narita airport received a call from Germany around 06:20 in the morning (local time) and that the voice of a man, in English, claimed to have placed an explosive in the cargo room of the Jetstar plane. The alleged perpetrator demanded to speak to a company executive or else he would detonate the bomb.

According to the authorities, so far no suspicious objects have been located on the plane. The Japanese airport temporarily closed its runway but operations have now returned to normal.
