An Israeli civilian has shot dead this Friday a Palestinian who allegedly broke into his farm near the Karnei Shomron settlement, in the West Bank, with explosive devices and with the aim of carrying out an attack, according to information from the Israeli Defense Forces. Israel (IDF).
The Israeli Army has indicated in a statement that the Palestinian in question entered the Havat Dorot Illit farm, in the northern West Bank, armed with knives and various improvised explosive devices.
Thus, the suspect allegedly launched several devices of this type, of which one of them exploded, before the owner of the property opened fire against him and ended his life. Several IDF troops have carried out a raid in the vicinity in search of other suspects.
On the other hand, the Israeli forces have carried out a raid this morning in the town of Nilin, in the West Bank, to arrest the main suspect in the attack that occurred hours before in the city of Tel Aviv and which has resulted in at least three injuries. .
The IDF have confirmed that the military launched the operation to find Mutaz Salá al Jawaja, a 23-year-old man who is believed to be behind the attack. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant himself had previously called for the suspect’s home to be “razed” immediately.
In this sense, the Israeli forces have explained that measures have been taken with a view to the possible demolition of the house. Israel generally demolishes the homes of Palestinians accused of carrying out terrorist attacks, although this type of measure has raised controversy and has sparked debate even within the Israeli establishment.
