9 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Palestinian armed group The Lion’s Den has announced this Sunday the execution of a “traitor”, a Palestinian who allegedly spied for Israel.
The group has reported that it has “liquidated” the suspect in a brief message posted on Telegram that does not give more information about his identity or the facts of which he is accused, according to the Israeli newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’.
“We address all traitors who sell their religion, their conscience, their honor and their nation,” the group warned.
The Independent Commission for Human Rights, a Palestinian public body, has reported the death on Saturday afternoon of an individual “accused of spying for the Israeli occupation.”
The Commission has stressed that no one should “take the law into their own hands” and has warned that extrajudicial executions can cause “chaos”. The body has indicated that treason is an “heinous crime” that must be tried and punished in court.
The Army has killed in recent months several members of The Lion’s Den, a group that operates mainly in the Nablus region, in the West Bank.
