A new Israeli bombing leaves four dead in the Bekaa Valley, eastern Lebanon

MADRID 10 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least four people have died this Thursday in a new bombing carried out by the Israeli Army against the town of Kark, located near the Bekaa Valley, an area located in eastern Lebanon and which has been the target of several Israeli attacks during recent weeks as tension in the area increases.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health has indicated in a statement that four people have died and another 17 have been injured, although “work to remove debris continues in the vicinity”, as it has indicated.

The attack has shattered the windows of buildings located within a 200-meter radius of the impact zone, while several fire trucks have been deployed in the vicinity to search for residents who are currently missing.

Israel describes its invasion of Lebanon, unleashed on October 1, as a “selective and limited” operation against Hezbollah’s “terrorist targets and infrastructure.” The offensive was launched after nearly two weeks of intensified attacks and has been paralleled by an intensification of bombings against the capital, Beirut, and other areas of the country, especially in the south.

Lebanese authorities have reported more than 2,100 deaths from attacks in the last year, while thousands of people have been injured and around 1.2 million have been forced to flee their homes.
