Police are investigating whether the placement of five coffins covered with the French flag that appeared this weekend next to the Eiffel Tower is a new act of Russian interference.
Each of the wooden boxes had the inscription “French soldiers in Ukraine”. A macabre mystery that has turned France upside down and which has already been echoed in the British press. According to the newspaper Guardianthree men are being investigated in connection with the events.
The inscription on the coffins is believed to be directed against French President Emmanuel Macron for having raised the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine, a suggestion Moscow describes as “dangerous.”

The incident, which took place this weekend, comes days after talks between the French and Ukrainian Defense Ministers in which the possibility of France sending military instructors to Ukraine to train its troops was raised.
French Police are now investigating links between one of the suspects and the acts of vandalism committed a week ago cagainst the monument in honor of the victims of the Holocaust; 35 red hands were painted on the work that honors the people who saved Jews from persecution during the Nazi occupation of France from 1940 to 1944.
