A Muslim Indian has been killed by a mob in the Indian state of Bihar after being accused of transporting beef, an animal sacred to Hinduism.
The victim is Nasib Qureshi, who was assaulted in Rasulpur, in the Chharpa district, by dozens of individuals armed with sticks and sharp weapons, according to the Indian press.
The Police have already arrested three suspects and have assured that there is an investigation underway to locate those more responsible for the attack.
“Nasib was a worker. He had six daughters and a son. One of them is not married and they should give him a job as an official. The guilty must be punished,” said a relative of the victim, Ashraf Qureshi, in statements to the portal news agency Clarion India.
A nephew of the victim who was with her at the time of the attack has denounced that at first the Police tried to manage what happened as an “accident”.
