A man accused of "leaking" information about Ukrainian troop positions has been arrested in Odessa

1 May. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on Monday arrested a Russian citizen accused of “leaking” information to the Russian authorities about the positions of Ukrainian troops in the Odessa region.

The Ukrainian authorities have indicated that it is a worker at a chemical plant in Odesa, who would have been “delivering information on Army positions and industrial facilities” in the region.

Investigators have claimed that the man was passing “critical infrastructure coordinates” and “detailed” information on the location of military bases and weaponry of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“It has also leaked information to the aggressor country about troops deployed to guarantee the security and protection of industrial infrastructures,” the SBU detailed in a statement.
