26 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Italian authorities have confirmed that the Italian journalist Corrado Zunino, a reporter for the newspaper ‘La Repubblica’, has been injured in the Ukrainian city of Kherson as part of an attack in which his collaborator, identified as Bogdan Bitik, has died.

“Corrado Zunino, (…) who was injured in the shoulder during a drone attack in Kherson, is well and is being followed by our Embassy in Kiev,” Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said in his official profile of the social network Twitter.

Tajani has confirmed that he is in contact with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dimitro Kuleba, who has guaranteed him “the full cooperation of the Ukrainian authorities.” The Italian minister has assured that he has informed the situation to the prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, and has expressed his “solidarity” to the leadership of ‘La Repubblica’.

Zunino has contacted the Italian newspaper to report what happened and has confirmed that his collaborator has died as a result of the attack, while he has been transferred to a health center in Kherson. Both were clearly identified as press.
