A explosion of unknown origin left one person injured in a building in the centre of the German city of Cologne (west), local authorities reported. The German press describes the incident as “attempt“, although the police have not yet given further details on the matter.
“A 53-year-old man was slightly injured in an explosion at the entrance to a building on the Hohenzollernring in the city centre at around 5:45 a.m. (3:45 GMT),” Cologne police said in a statement.
“The doors and windows of the building were severely damaged by the explosion. Based on video surveillance recordings,” the police statement said, adding that A man is wanted who could be linked to the crime and fled after the explosion.
“He was wearing a white and blue jacket, dark pants and dark sneakers,” according to the police description of the suspect.
The injured person, according to the newspaper ‘Bild’, is a cleaning crew worker from the building that was near the site of the explosion.
