A client of a Lebanese bank has been arrested on Tuesday after opening fire at a bank branch in the Lebanese city of Sidon, which is located south of the capital, Beirut.
The Police, who have arrested the alleged attacker, have indicated that the incident occurred after a discussion between the client and bank employees, according to information in the newspaper ‘L’Orient le Jour’. In addition, he has confirmed that no years have been recorded.
The man is an ex-military man who reportedly returned to his vehicle for the gun after branch workers denied him banking services. Later, he fired at one of the glass doors.
The Association of Banks of Lebanon has held an emergency meeting this Tuesday to consider the possibility of closing branches throughout the country for the next three days due to the increase in this type of incident.
