July 24 () –

A child has died and six more civilians have been injured by the impact of a Russian cluster bomb on the town of Kostantinovska, in the Ukrainian province of Donetsk, in the east of the country, according to Ukrainian sources.

The shelling occurred on Monday afternoon, when “at least seven civilians were injured,” according to the head of the Donetsk military region, Pavlo Kirilenko.

“Among the injured there are four minors, three girls aged 5, 11 and 12 and an 11-year-old boy,” he recounted in his Telegram account. She has later confirmed that the 11-year-old boy has passed away.

Kirilenko has stressed that the Russians would have intentionally bombed a children’s area. “Around 7:00 p.m. they opened fire on an area where there were people resting. They fired a Smerch multiple rocket launcher with cluster ammunition,” he assured.

“The Russians show once again that they are at war with civilians and that they will stop at nothing in their desire to kill,” he added, while urging families with minors to leave the area. “Children cannot be in a war zone. Take care of them, evacuate. We will give you everything you need,” she said.
