The Russian Justice has sentenced Mahdi Magomedov, a member of the Chechen guerrilla, to 23 years in prison for attacking a unit of Russian paratroopers in the year 2000 near the town of Ulus Kert, in the vicinity of Grozny.
The Russian Investigative Committee has reported that “the evidence collected by the Investigative Department appears to be sufficient to convict him” for the attack on the Pskov troops, according to information from the TASS news agency.
Thus, they have pointed out that Magomedov -who was part of the guerrilla led by Shamil Basayev, who even offered a reward for the murder of Vladimir Putin-, has been found guilty of the attack perpetrated in February 2000 and in which they died 84 members of the Army.
