No operating system, including Windows 11, you are safe from experiencing errors derived from problems that have not been found in the testing phasesand is that as has been seen on the Microsoft website, versions 21H2 and 22H2 of Windows 11 are wreaking havoc on a subset of Windows 11 users by causing Windows Explorer to overuse CPU resources.
Microsoft has identified the problem as part of the Windows 11 update released on May 9, so, if our equipment has been updated since then, we are most likely vulnerable to this problem to a greater or lesser extent.
Initially, the effective access panel may not be visible in the “Advanced Security Settings” dialog for shared files or folders. On affected devices, when the “View effective access” button is selected, the message “Computing effective access…” is received. but the query results may not be displayed and explorer.exe may continue to use CPU after the dialog is closed.
Microsoft acknowledges that this is an issue that will not affect most home users, but advanced users can find themselves with it, which is why it has been indicated that we will need to log out and log in again to get rid of the high CPU consumption situation.
