A bug in iOS 16 can prevent us from accessing our mailbox

Yesterday Apple released version 16.02 of iOS, a minor version of the operating system that focused on fixing various bugs in the company’s new operating system, like the one we saw a few days ago that to vibrate uncontrollably the stabilization system of the camerasrendering them unusable in third-party applications.

However, it seems that this version of the system has introduced a new bug, and that is that the email application is susceptible to a simple attackWhat is it that of placing some quotation marks in the sender field that will make the recipient of the message leave his tray unusable when opening it.

It is hoped that there will soon be a mitigation to the problem, but currently both iOS 16.1 Beta and iPadOS 16.1 Beta are susceptible to this attackso you might expect a fix to take a bit longer than usual, or instead be given priority to appear on both iOS 16.0 and 16.1 at the same time.

It is not the first time that we have encountered cases like this on Apple devices, since at the time we discovered how certain WiFi network names could block the device, as well as some –unrealistic– names of HomePod speakers.
