The Danish Police have confirmed that an individual has been arrested for a bomb threat – still under consideration – this Saturday against Billund airport, the second most important in the country, currently evacuated.
“We ask all citizens not to go to the airport,” Southeast Jutland Police Inspector Michael Weiss said in a statement about the threat received around 10:30 in the morning.
The Police are combing the entire airport with investigators, canine units and bomb squads. “It cannot yet be confirmed that there is a bomb at the site,” the statement said.
The airport has suspended all its activities and “there is no time horizon” for their resumption, the Police add in their note, published on their website.
The Police confirm the arrest of a man but at the moment do not give more details apart from the fact that “there is currently no information that anyone else is behind the bomb threat.”
