Xiaomi joins electric cars and will let us see a prototype in August

The Chinese company will let us see a preview of what will be its first electric car and which is expected to reach the market in the coming years.

Xiaomi, one of the leading smartphone and consumer electronics companies, has always stood out for its great variety and extensive catalogue. where he has never been afraid to develop any type of product.

And it is that this company is known worldwide for its phones, but in its catalog it has products such as scooters, cleaning robots, air purifiers, televisions, pillows, plant monitors, etc, etc.

One of the fields where many wanted the company to take a step forward is in the world of electric cars, and finally it seems that Xiaomi has decided to take the first step and let us see the prototype.

Xiaomi intends to show the prototype of its electric car this Augusta product that was already announced last year, where in March Xiaomi said that it would enter the electric vehicle sector with an investment of 10,000 million dollars.

This new electric car seems to be designed by the HVST Automobile Design company, which designed the Weltmeister Maven a few years ago, an electric car with a quite striking and futuristic design.

It should be noted that Weltmeister is itself a Chinese company, even though its name bears a certain resemblance to what a German company could be, but in the same way it showed us a quite successful design.

The CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, says he cannot wait any longer to definitively present this new electric car, where he admits spending most of his time trying to make sure the project goes ahead.

Although this model is presented in the next month of August, we would have to wait until 2024 to see the first models in productionwhere it is expected to reach 150,000 units per year.

Xiaomi’s goal is to reach once its factories and production are at full capacity the amount of 300,000 cars per yeara figure that is not low for a company that is entering this market for the first time.

And it is that to make this possible there is a team that already has more than 1,000 employees and as announced is constantly growing, in perhaps the field where Xiaomi thinks it can offer more.

The production factory will be called Xiaomi Auto, and will be based on both the production plant and its R&D center in Yizhuang, where it is also said that Xiaomi would be preparing up to 4 different models of electric cars.
